Bedlam - Manages to navigate an extremely busy plot very well and brings back the adventure of Phase 1Ĥ. Dark Days - The smaller stakes are a breath of fresh air from the first trilogy, and it has one of my favorite final actsĥ. Skulduggery Pleasant - The most charming and straightforward entry in the series, though the writing is a bit simplistic compared to later booksĦ. Ressurection - After you get over the initial confusion of all the new information being thrown at you it really delivers a great return to the seriesħ. The Faceless Ones - An epic culmination of the trilogy, though held back by the underdevelopment of the villainsĨ. Midnight - Drops all its mediocre storylines halfway through to tell a different story that is some of the best Skulduggery has to offerĩ. Seasons of War - Seasons of War is the first Phase 2 book to be simple and streamlined - until it isnt, and we get that terrible convoluted endingġ0. Dead or Alive - Just absolute nonsense, but it is fairly entertaining while it lasts thoughġ1. Playing with Fire - While this book keeps the fun and adventure of the first book, there are just way too many fight scenesġ2. Mortal Coil - This book contains some of Derek's worst writing, at this point he still struggles to write non-Valkyrie POVs, however, Tesseract is done perfectlyġ3. The Malificent Seven - A hillarious band of heroes (namely lord Scaracen himself) really save this one from being boringġ4. Armageddon Outta Here - A mixed bag, the stories here vary greatly in quality although nothing reaches the greatness of the core titlesġ5. Do you agree? Do you disagree? It's not going to be easy as I have grown up on these books but I'm going to rank them from my least favorite to favorite and summarise my feelings in a short sentence for each one. I've been rereading the greatest series ever in preperation for Dead or Alive.
